Does he have a disclaimer that dyes will have different color results depending on the base color of the item being dyed?

I read this and had a good laugh. The colors listed are exactly what you would expect from the ones mixed. Some one was/is scamming and someone is/will be scammed from this auction.

actually he's right, it's not based on pigments it's based on light spectrum for instance red and blue make green not purple

So this implies that black is obsolete in mixing?

As many have said, the graphics model they're using is blending LIGHT. Perhaps those art classes should have made a little foray into physics

My intent was to irritate the one selling it, not to actually use it as a resource...

all that I have read says that actual real life mixes are not going to be the same as in game, I looked at the ebay offering of this. The person selling claims that these are actual tested mixes. I personally have looked for a mixing chart for long time. Good to see someone finially post it. I did test the purple silver and it works.
Please test what you can and post results here for all to have as a referance.

The only issue I have with mixing is ... a person should get 2 bottles when they MIX 2 bottles.
Not 1 bottle.

Through an obscure rule of physics, ArenaNet has managed to create dye that has remarkable efficiency when it comes to storage.
"Start off with one vial of dye: one vial! Mix it with another vial of dye: still one vial! Mix it with a third: yet again, one vial! And, new and improved, this dye can even fit FOUR vials mixed into one!"
I have this disturbing image of Rurik dressed as a infomercial host.

Ummm...there is a mixing guide posted at gwonline I believe. I helped my dad track it down the other day as the normal green is too dark for his tastes. Anyway, the dye guide was full of various colors with the abbreviations of the mixture necessary to make that color. Why would anyone buy what this guy had on ebay? HI-larious!

Yeah, wanna know something funny? Yelllow into Orange, and Silver into the mix makes Gold. No need to waste a silver.
Jeez and if you have a Mesmer Mask, which is shiny to begin with, yellow and orange make it gold anyway...
Its easy to get scammed in Dye Mixing. It'd be nice if Arenanet would post a real chart for people.
Yeah, the base color of the armor does deal change what the color is. Just like Necro Scars dont change the color of the dye used.
